According to the BBC, Chelsea have agreed on a deal with Ligue 1 side Rennes for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
Signing the 28-year-old is seen as a priority given the mistakes made by Kepa Arrizabalaga.
A reminder of his fallacies occured yesterday when he gave away the ball for Liverpool’s second goal of the night.
With Mendy now on his way, it remains to be seen if Kepa will continue as the club’s first choice.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard urged the need to give his number one confidence. Kepa looks like a player bereft of it and it remains to be seen if he will rise to the challenge presented by Mendy.
According to the report, the Senegalese’s save percentage was 76.3% and he conceded a goal every 114 minutes. Meanwhile, Kepa’s save percentage was 53.5%, conceding a goal every 63 minutes.
A number of Chelsea fans took to Twitter to rejoice at the news. We take a look at a few of them below.
