Derby di Milano Awaits: Inter and Milan to Battle for Coppa Italia Final

Inter booked a mouth-watering Coppa Italia semi-final date against bitter San Siro rivals Milan with a win against Lazio on Tuesday. While dates and times for the two games remain undetermined, the first leg will come in early April, with the Rossoneri the designated home side.

Despite Milan’s embarrassing season, they’ve been a thorn in Inter’s side. In addition to a remarkable Supercoppa Italiana triumph in January, Sergio Conceicao’s men avoided defeat in both Serie A meetings, including a 2-1 win as an ‘away’ side in mid-September.

With the highly anticipated derby on the horizon, fans are gearing up for another intense showdown between the city rivals.

However, while many fans focus on securing another trophy, some supporters are also looking for the best deals on EA FC coins for sale to enhance their gaming experience.

Expectations

Meanwhile, Inter manager Simone Inzaghi expects a hard-fought two-legged tie.

An intense double challenge is expected against Milan, we will play it with the objective of reaching the final in Rome,” Inzaghi said as reported by MilanPress. “Now, however, we must think game by game, we will have to try to recover strength and energy because we will need everyone.

On the other hand, Yann Bisseck insists Milan are not better than Inter despite tormenting them in head-to-head match-ups this season.

There are many games to play before that. Then in April, we’ll see,” the German defender said via FCInterNews. “We’re not thinking about Milan at the moment. Of course, we want to win every match, including the one against Milan.

I don’t think Milan is stronger than us, but every game is different, and we have to give our all. If we do, we can have a great match.

Cup Specialists

Despite last season’s unexpected last-16 exit at the hands of Bologna, Inter have become synonymous with the Coppa Italia success over the years. Indeed, they’ve reached the semi-finals in five of the last six years and will aim to lift a third title in that span.

Inzaghi knows in-depth about winning this trophy. Before inspiring Inter to back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023, he led Lazio to cup glory in 2019. Furthermore, he also featured in the 2016/17 final, though Massimiliano Allegri’s side got the better of the Biancocelesti.

Saving Grace

Already out of the Champions League and well below the top-four pace in Serie A, Milan can salvage some pride by winning their first Coppa Italia title since 2003. Conceicao’s men pulled off an epic comeback to beat Inter 3-2 in the Italian Super Cup final in January.

They’ll aim to replicate those heroics in the semi-final after beating Roma 3-1 in the previous round to set up this blockbuster tie. All eyes will be on Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao as they could be contesting the famous Derby della Madonnina for the last time.

Both players could leave the San Siro in the same, and there’s hardly a better way to bid farewell to Milan fans than winning a piece of silverware. It would also offer Conceicao much-needed respite, especially if his side fails to recover ground on Juventus.
