The Rams are looking to complete multiple deals in the coming days

Derby County have agreed a deal to sign Carlton Morris from Luton Town, whilst John Eustace's side are also set to complete the signings of Andreas Weimann and Danny Batth from Blackburn Rovers.

That is according to a fresh update from John Percy of the Telegraph via X on Saturday afternoon, with the Rams boss looking to conclude multiple deals during the early stages of the transfer window which reopened last week following a brief closure coinciding with the beginning of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Eustace took charge in February and was able to guide the East Midlands outfit to safety after making a shock move from Ewood Park, with Blackburn narrowly missing out on a place in the Championship play-offs after a much improved end-of-season run under his successor, Valerien Ismael.

The former Birmingham City boss is now looking to mould the squad at Pride Park into one he can very much call his own ahead of his first pre-season, and completing a plethora of deals which offer both quality and bundles of second tier experience at an early stage will only echo such intent.

So far this summer, the Rams have released and sold numerous experienced players within the ranks, whilst top scorer Jerry Yates also returned to Swansea City after being responsible for 10 of the side's 48 goals scored under Eustace and Paul Warne.

Bolstering the side's attacking ranks have been viewed as a priority, and as per Percy's aforementioned update, Derby have agreed a fee with Luton to acquire Morris, with the 29-year-old set for a medical next week ahead of the pending transfer.

Despite Luton's well-documented plight from the Premier League back into League One in successive seasons, Morris remained one of the Hatters' key figures under Rob Edwards and Matt Bloomfield, scoring eight times and laying on two assists in 42 games after hitting double figures in the top-flight alongside strike partner, Elijah Adebayo.

Whilst the fee for Morris isn't disclosed within Percy's update, it has been revealed that Eustace is eyeing up several other targets, and that deals for Weimann and Batth have also been agreed.

It was exclusively revealed by Football League World last month that the duo had been offered contract extensions to remain in East Lancashire, whilst the Derby boss entertained the idea of bringing both to DE24.

The Austrian forward is no stranger to this part of the world either, having scored nine times in 88 appearances between 2014 and 2018, going on to shine for Bristol City before joining Rovers following his release by the West Country outfit.

Batth is as experienced as they come at Championship level too, having played 353 times in the second tier, as well as winning the division with Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017/18. He made 41 appearances for Blackburn last season, scoring twice.

This comes off the back of news that Eustace is also looking to reunite with another of his Ewood Park recruits, with Football Insider reporting that the 45-year-old is targeting a loan move for Owen Beck from Liverpool, with the left-back gaining plenty of admirers for his consistency last term.

Whilst these three acquisitions won't exactly lower the average age of Derby's squad, which was the highest in the Championship last season (27.6), they will be extremely beneficial to the club's aims of progressing up the table.

Morris has been one of the division's most potent scorers in recent seasons, with an overall record of 42 goals in 145 second tier outings, boasting impressive pace and power which make him a handful for many centre-backs to deal with, and having Weimann alongside him, who can offer a different skillset will be a strong combination for Eustace.

Meanwhile, Derby are also needing to fill the Nat Phillips-shaped void at the heart of defence, and whilst Batth may not be the flashiest of names potentially on the club's transfer radar, his availability, consistency and physical presence within both boxes will be a welcome addition, representing a low-risk, high-reward deal.
