​Derby boss Rooney can't wait to manage against Man Utd | OneFootball

Derby County manager Wayne Rooney admits he cannot wait to take on old club Manchester United one day.

Rooney is a United legend and was a teammate of current United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The former England captain helped Derby avoid relegation from the Championship last term and is eventually hoping to get them promotion to the Premier League.

Derby will take on United in a pre-season friendly on July 18th.

"I'm really pleased with our pre-season plans ahead of the new season," Rooney said, per the Manchester Evening News.

"The game against United, a club I have a long and proud affiliation and history with, at Pride Park Stadium is a mouthwatering prospect and an excellent opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in both England and Europe.

"In addition, we have some other challenging friendly matches and they will provide a variety of important tests for us in the lead-up to the season getting started."
