Bayern Munich take on Borussia Dortmund in one of the biggest games of the season yet. A win can send Hansi Flick’s men two points clear at the top of the table, above second-placed RB Leipzig.

Benjamin Pavard and Douglas Costa returned to training earlier this week, but miss out on the Der Klassiker. Thomas Muller was back the last time out after his bout with coronavirus, and takes his rightful place in the starting XI.

Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich also start, while Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala make the bench.

There’s no doubt Bayern have their work cut out for them with all the injuries piling up, and the fixture is guaranteed to be a tough one.

Dortmund, meanwhile, desperately need a win as they look to get back into the top four. They are currently fifth, three points off Eintracht Frankfurt, and will be looking to extend the gap between themselves and Bayer Leverkusen.

All eyes will be on Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 19 goals in 22 games against Dortmund. Muller isn’t far behind with 14 goals in 21 matches against their fiercest rivals.

Dortmund’s main threat, Erling Haaland, starts up front, and has contributed with 30 goals in his first 33 Bundesliga appearances.
