Departing Atlético Madrid star agrees Sevilla move | OneFootball

A recently-departed member of the defensive ranks at Atlético Madrid has agreed on the terms of a move to La Liga rivals Sevilla.

That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards César Azpilicueta as the player in question.

Versatile full-back Azpilicueta is for his part currently on the market as a free agent.

This comes after the aforementioned Atlético, with whom he spent the last two seasons, opted against offering the 35-year-old a renewal to his expiring contract terms.

A number of clubs from across Spain’s top-flight, in turn, are understood to have expressed an interest in a deal for ‘Azpi’.

And as alluded to above, late this week, one such suitor have beaten out the competition to his signature.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Cesar Azpilicueta, new Sevilla player on free transfer after leaving Atléti! He’s just landed for medical and contract signing at the club.’
