“The debut with the Nerazzurri shirt was an unforgettable moment, I was happy and full of enthusiasm.

“Many great players have worn this shirt, being the eleventh Dutchman in Inter history is an honour, I’m happy to carry on this tradition.”

Denzel Dumfries also discussed his overall passion for football and that it originally came from his cousin taking him to play football when he was little.

“I’ve always wanted to play football, a passion I’ve had since I was born. When my cousin played I asked him to take me with him, I always dreamed and worked to become a footballer.”

It was not just the Inter debut that was special for Denzel Dumfries, his debut for The Netherlands was also a moment he holds very dear in his heart.

“My debut with the Dutch national team was incredible, I made my debut against Germany on 13th October 2018 and we won the match 3-0.

“It was a dream come true, one of the most special moments of my career.”

Carrying on the trend of talking about the milestones in his football career, the ex-PSV Eindhoven player talked about his professional debut with another of his old clubs, Emmen Sparta Rotterdam back in 2015.

“Emmen-Sparta Rotterdam on February 20th, 2015, a game that marked an important stage in my career as it was my first game as a professional player.

“I was playing for Sparta Rotterdam, the club with which I entered the sport and with which I reached the first important milestones in my career.”
