Araya Dennis came off the bench to register an assist in England’s emphatic 10-0 victory over Lithuania in the opening game of their Women’s European Under-19 Championship campaign on Sunday afternoon.
The 18-year-old, who signed a professional contract with the Club in February 2024, was introduced in the 70th minute, with her nation already leading 9-0 at the time, and provided an instant threat down the right-hand side.
Then, in the closing stages of the game, Araya’s looped cross was tapped home from close-range by Madison Earl to round off an excellent win for the Young Lionesses.
The result puts England top of Group A after the opening fixtures and will face Serbia on Wednesday afternoon (12pm UK) who were defeated 2-1 by France on Sunday afternoon.
Elsewhere, defender Charlotte Grant was also a second half substitute as Australia suffered a 2-1 defeat to Canada in Spain on Saturday evening as part of their preparations for the Olympic games at the end of this month.
