Although her nation is already out of the Euros, Denmark’s Emma Snerle will miss the remainder of the tournament after suffering from a concussion.
Emma Snerle was forced off the pitch during Denmark’s 2-1 loss to Germany on Tuesday with a head injury and the midfielder has been assessed with a concussion following the game.
The 24-year-old took a ball to the face at close range from a teammate no less and after clearly struggling with the pain she was replaced by Josefine Hasbo with just over 20 minutes left to play.
Th Danish FA took to X on Wednesday afternoon to update fans on Snerle’s health and while they disclosed that the Fiorentina star is recovering, they also confirmed that she would miss out on the remainder of the tournament.
Denmark conceded just a couple of minutes before Snerle came out of the game and despite taking the lead in the first half, it was Germany who turned things around after half time to take home all three points.
If Denmark had held on for at least a point then they would still be in contention to qualify going into the final group game but after the defeat they were eliminated.
With Sweden and Germany qualifying for the quarter finals already, Denmark’s final game in Group C against Poland will see the two nations battle it out for third place.
Sweden and Germany both won their first two respective group games against Poland and Denmark, which sets up for a thriller in the final Group C match.
Germany are just 9/2 to win Euro 2025 according to the best UK football betting sites, while Sweden are priced slightly higher at 12/1.
The final group game could have a big say in how far both teams go in the knockouts and Germany are just fancied to win at Stadion Letzigrund on Saturday at a price of 5/4.
