Crystal Palace are in negotiations with Manchester United over a loan move for Donny van de Beek, who has struggled to find a way into the Manchester United starting line-up since joining from Ajax.

Sky Sports claim Patrice Vieria is pushing for a deal after being urged by his former Arsenal team-mate Denis Bergkamp, who is set to be the grandad of Van de Beek’s soon to be born child.

However, Palace face competition from Valencia, but the report stresses that there are doubts whether the La Liga outfit could cover his salary between now and the end of the season. He might need to cut his salary like Anthony Martial did in order to seal a move to Sevilla.

It makes total sense for United to move Van de Beek on because he has struggled to break into the first team at Old Trafford under two different managers.

The club will hope that he can somehow build his value in market by performing well should he depart this month, especially after spending £39m for his signature in the summer of 2020.

Moreover, it’s been a farcical situation that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick have had to address time and time again in the press.

The bottom line is Van de Beek won’t get a call up to the Netherlands squad for the World Cup unless he gets more game time.
