Tottenham Hotspur are through to the last 16 of the Europa League following a comfortable 4-0 (8-1) second leg victory over Wolfsberger on Wednesday.
Scorers: Alli 10′, Vinícius 50′, 83′, Bale 73′
With Spurs already 4-1 up from the first leg, their place in the next round was effectively rubber stamped by a superb Dele Alli bicycle kick after just 10 minutes here.
Early in the second half, Carlos Vinícius headed home from Alli’s cross to make it 2-0 on the night and 6-1 on aggregate.
Gareth Bale was introduced as a substitute and he soon made it 3-0 when he latched onto Alli’s pass and lashed a left-footed effort into the top corner.
And Vinícius wrapped up the win when he netted his second goal of the night after substitute Dane Scarlett had dispossessed defender Gustav Henriksson on the edge of the visitors’ box.
The result means José Mourinho’s side are into the hat for Friday’s round of 16 draw.
