Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has called on his team-mates to ‘work hard and fight’ through their difficult spell of form.
The north London outfit have lost four of their last five games, and could face Champions League elimination should they fail to overturn a 1-0 first leg defeat against RB Leipzig.
But Alli believes this squad have character in abundance to turn things around – as demonstrated in previous years.
“When you’re in the Premier League at this stage everyone’s fighting and working hard, we have to match that and have the same fight and enthusiasm,” he told Standard Sport.
“You have to be switched on throughout the whole game, your talent isn’t going to be enough – you have to work hard and fight.
“There’s no hiding in this league, the stats and the table are out there for everyone to see. As well as we play in some games, we’re not getting over the line.
“I think this squad has shown character throughout the years we’ve been together. This is a very tough period for us in terms of results but I believe we can turn it around.”
Spurs are currently eighth in the Premier League.
