Everton picked up the first win of their pre-season campaign on Sunday with a 4-2-win over Blackpool.
Scorers: Madine 44′, Connolly 53′; Mykolenko 6′, Davies 11′, Alli 48′, 64′
Following losses to Arsenal and Minnesota United, Everton finally managed to click into gear during their clash against Blackpool.
Frank Lampard’s side was quick off the mark at Bloomfield Road when they took a 2-0 lead over the hosts thanks to a smashing volley from Vitalli Mykolenko and a thumping header from Tom Davies.
With roughly only 10 minutes gone, the hosts would then settle into the match and pull one back just before the break via Gary Madine despite Jordan Pickford’s best efforts.
But the best was yet to come for Everton as Dele Alli’s second-half brace kept Lampard’s side in the driver’s seat despite Blackpool managing to add a second of their own through Callum Connolly between both goals.
The Toffees now have one pre-season match to go against Dynamo Kyiv on Friday before kicking off the new Premier League season.
