Dele Alli has denied he was demanding an upgrade when he was filmed arguing with staff at London’s Mayfair Hotel earlier this week.

A video of Alli and Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley circulated online following England’s win over Croatia on Sunday.

The Premier League pair had been out celebrating their side’s victory when they were caught on camera engaged in what appeared to be an angry altercation with the receptionist at the five-star hotel.

The owner of the footage claimed the players were demanding to be upgraded to a better room but a representative of the Tottenham star has rubbished the allegations.

“He was not staying at the hotel, so clearly could not have been demanding an upgrade,” a spokesperson for the 22-year-old told the Mirror.

So that clears that up … sort of.

Quite why they were even in a hotel they weren’t staying at is anyone’s guess.
