Tottenham Hotspur will hope to make one final push for the Europa League places as they take on Wolves on Sunday. The Lilywhites are currently standing seventh in the league table, just two points behind fifth-placed West Ham, and with Arsenal breathing down their necks, a win could be critical as Ryan Mason hopes to secure his team a place in Europe next season.

Defence

Ryan Mason has persisted with the central defensive duo of Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier since taking over the charge from Jose Mourinho three weeks ago. However, Dier came under heavy criticism for his performance against Leeds United, with Davinson Sanchez making a strong case to be included in the starting eleven.

That said, we do expect Mason to once again put his trust in the two centre-backs, while Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon should also continue to occupy the fullback positions. Reguilon hasn’t performed well and would have had to settle for a place on the bench, had it not been for the injury of Ben Davies.

Elsewhere in defence, Hugo Lloris should once again lead the Tottenham side, after emerging as the only bright spark in the defeat to Leeds. The Frenchman will be hoping for a quieter afternoon against Wolves.

Midfield

Mason is facing a lot of pressure to recall Tanguy Ndombele back into the side after the Frenchman has been omitted from the starting eleven for the third successive time. Unfortunately, the former Lyon man might once again have to settle for a place on the bench, as Giovani Lo Celso continue in the number eight role.

The Argentine international will be dealt with the responsibility of adding the creative essence in the final third, with additional support from the holding midfielder in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko are potential alternatives, should Mason go for a more passive style of play.

Attack

The Tottenham attack should be spearheaded by none other than Harry Kane. However, it is the creative department where things should get interesting, even though Son Heung-Min and Gareth Bale are guaranteed starters due to their ability to operate as runners out wide.

As for the vacant number ten slot, Ryan Mason has three options in Dele Alli, Lucas Moura or Erik Lamela. Alli is currently the favourite, having shown glimpses of his quality in the defeat to Leeds, though Lucas is more than likely to be utilised as a substitute.
