Alessandro Del Piero believes Pep Guardiola would be a ‘good fit’ for Juventus amid speculation the Manchester City manager could leave the club following their two season ban from the Champions League.

The Premier League champions have been hit with a two-year ban from UEFA after being found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play regulations, the decision leaving several of the key personnel at the Etihad facing uncertain futures.

Man City were also fined €30m and are set to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, though should the verdict be upheld it could leave to an exodus as the club’s finest talents seek opportunities amongst Europe’s elite.

Speculation has suggested that manager Guardiola could be amongst those to depart as he seeks to win a third Champions League title in his career, and Juventus legend Del Piero believes the Spaniard would be a ‘good fit’ for the Turin side as they look to end a long wait to be crowned champions of Europe.

Guardiola had already been linked with joining Juventus before news of City’s ban broke, and asked by Sky Sports News if the ban increased the chances of a move, Del Piero said: “Yes.

“I think Guardiola is a good fit for every club for what he did in the past and what he is doing now… he won in Germany he won in Spain and now I guess what is missing is Italy and France.

“It could be really interesting to see him in Italy definitely. This summer should be a hot summer, also in football!”
