Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevski is expected to miss the Premier League clash against Arsenal because of a hamstring injury, reports The Athletic.

He featured in Nations League games against Serbia and Slovenia but is unlikely to recover in time for this weekend’s north London derby.

The 22-year-old has been in brilliant form since his arrival from Juventus on loan. He was instrumental in Antonio Conte’s side finishing fourth in the Premier League last season. He has a goal and three assists to his name this term.

Spurs have an obligation to make his transfer permanent at the end of this season if he plays 20 Premier League games and a top-four finish is secured.

Alternatively, Spurs still have a buyout clause if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. They are determined to sign him permanently one way or another.

The former Parma star recently spoke about his life at Tottenham, stating that he is happy with his resurgence following a struggling spell with the Bianconeri.

In Kulusevski’s absence, Conte will look to deploy Heung-min Son and Richarlison as strike partners to Harry Kane.

Richarlison is coming off a productive international break with Brazil, scoring in both games against Ghana and Tunisia.

Son found the net for South Korea against Costa Rica and Cameroon, while Kane was on the scoresheet in England’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Germany in the Nations League.

Spurs and the Gunners will lock horns in the first north London derby of this season when the Premier League resumes this weekend.
