Aaron Anselmino will undergo a medical with Chelsea in London today ahead of signing a long-term contract with the club.
Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign the teenager from Boca Juniors with Anselmino having travelled to the UK to finalise his transfer to the Premier League.
The centre-back will complete his medical tests in London on Monday, according to Fabrizio Romano, before signing a contract until 2030, with the option of a further season. As part of the deal, Anselmino will return to Buenos Aires on loan to continue his development.
The defender will become the latest starlet signed from South America, with Chelsea having invested in emerging names from the region of late.
Brazilian talents Andrey Santos, Angelo Gabriel and Deivid Washington have all arrived across the last 18 months, while a deal has been reached for the highly-rated Estevao Willian to move to West London from Palmeiras next summer.
Chelsea have also captured Ecuadorian teenager Kendry Paez. The 17-year-old, who scored at this summer’s Copa America for the national team, will link up with the Blues in 2025.
