Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix is set to fly to England today to seal a move to Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace have been tested this summer for their central defenders by fellow Premier League clubs.
Newcastle United failed with four bids for Marc Guehi but his defensive partner Joachim Andersen has left the club for Fulham.
The Eagles have been in negotiations with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for Lacroix for a while and on Wednesday they reached an agreement.
The German club will receive £18m for the French centre-back and he has the green light from his club for a medical at the Eagles.
According to French radio station RMC, Lacroix will travel to London today to undergo his medical tests.
Lacroix is set to start a new journey after making 130 appearances for the Bundesliga club in his four years stay.
The Frenchman will be looking to make a big impact at Selhurst Park as the Eagles are trying to bounce back after a poor start to the league campaign.
