Declan Rice went full Vinnie Jones as he wiped out youngster after West Ham 2-2 Man City | OneFootball

West Ham drew 2-2 with Manchester City in their final Premier League match at the London Stadium in the 2021/22 season.

The Hammers threatened a huge upset as they led 2-0 at half-time thanks to Jarrod Bowen’s brace.

City came roaring back in the second half. Goals from Jack Grealish and Vladimír Coufal (own-goal) meant the scores were level with 10 minutes remaining.

The away side could have won it late on but Riyad Mahrez saw his late penalty saved by Lukasz Fabianski.

The families of West Ham players gathered on the pitch after the game.

And Declan Rice, who played the full 90 minutes, decided to go full Vinnie Jones in a kick about with some youngsters.

The English midfielder showed no mercy as he nutmegged and then slide tackled one of the kids.

In another video, Rice floored a youngster, believed to be his nephew, with a slide challenge from behind.

To the youngster’s credit he got straight back up, only for Rice to flick the ball over his head with ease.

Rice’s actions evoke memories of Jones, who wiped out a five-year-old mascot before a Leeds game in 1989.

The day was all about Mark Noble, who played for West Ham in front of his own fans for the very last time.

Noble was in tears before the match and Rice paid tribute to his teammate after the match.

He wrote, alongside a picture of him and Noble: “Mr West Ham. It’s been an honour & privilege to get to know you as a man and as a player. Thank you for some of the best memories and moments together. I am grateful that you’ve played a massive part in my life. Enjoy retirement mate.”

Rice has been heavily linked with a move away from the club himself. He could play his last match for the east London outfit next weekend, when they take on Brighton in their final game of the campaign.
