Declan Rice has netted his first goal for England on Wednesday, claiming the opener in England’s Nations League clash with Iceland.
The West Ham midfielder has been a mainstay in Gareth Southgate’s side for over a year now but finally grabbed his goal on the 13th time of asking.
And in doing so created a bit of history.
As Richard Jolly pointed out, Rice has become the first person to score for England after playing for another nation in 90 years.
In 1930 it was Gordon Hodgson who had played for South Africa.
Not it’s Rice who played three friendlies for the Republic of Ireland in 2018.
