At last, Mohamed Salah has spoken out more than 24 hours after the announcement of Portuguese star Diogo Jota's death.

Tributes have poured in since the sudden and tragic passing of Diogo Jota. The Portuguese forward died in a car accident on Wednesday night along with his brother, André. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Kylian Mbappé, and of course the entire Liverpool family, starting with Jürgen Klopp, Arne Slot, as well as the players, have all paid tribute to the former Portuguese international.

On Friday, July 4, it was Mohamed Salah’s turn to speak. "I am truly lost for words. Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would frighten me about going back to Liverpool after the break. Teammates come and go, but not like this. It’s going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won’t be there when we return. My thoughts are with his wife, his children, and of course his parents, who have lost their children so suddenly. Diogo and his brother André’s loved ones need all the support possible.
