Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen has confirmed his contract includes a release clause, handing a boost to Chelsea and Real Madrid in their pursuit of the Spain international.
The Cherries paid around £15m to sign Huijsen from Juventus last summer but face a significant battle to hold on to the 19-year-old beyond this season, with his dazzling individual form sparking interest from Europe's elite.
It was revealed earlier this year that Huijsen's contract includes a release clause worth just £50m - a comparatively low fee in a market which has seen young stars command close to double that sum.
"I have a contract until 2030 and I have an exit clause," Huijsen has now told El Chiringuito.
The defender did, however, suggest there could be some unknown details to his release clause which may not make it so straightforward to trigger.
"How much is my exit clause? The truth is, I don't really understand it myself," Huijsen laughed.
Chelsea are thought to be leading the race to sign Huijsen, but this interview, being in Spanish, focused more on the rival interest from Madrid, who are keen to build a new core of Spaniards in their squad.
"Do a lot of teams want me? I don't know," Huijsen said before being pushed directly on interest from Madrid.
"Madrid is a big team, and every player wants to play as much as possible. Do I want to play for Real Madrid? I don't know. We'll see. A friend called me and said, 'Go to Real Madrid'. I laughed. 'What am I supposed to say?'. Another friend is also pushing Barcelona."
