Dean Henderson joins Nottingham Forest on loan as Man Utd eye Daniel Bachmann
90min
Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is joining newly-promoted Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan.
Henderson spent much of last season as understudy to current United number one David de Gea, and is looking for regular first team football. Forest have moved for the player as they eye a replacement for current number one Brice Samba, who is in talks with RC Lens, and 90min understands a loan deal has been signed off - an official announcement is expected in due course.
United are likely to proceed with De Gea as the club's number one for the first season under new coach Erik ten Hag, and 90min understands that he could be in line for a new contract - with one year left to go on his existing deal. United to hold an option to trigger a year's extension, but De Gea was one of United's best performing players in a poor campaign last season.
De Gea is also in the frame to be named the club's new captain if indeed a decision is made to take the armband off Harry Maguire.

United are also in talks with Watford over goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann, who will likely join the club to take Henderson's place as the club's number two. Bachmann, an Austrian international, was previously targeted by Ten Hag when he was in charge of Dutch champions Ajax.
Lee Grant has left United this summer, and it's understood that Tom Heaton, who joined United last summer and is an academy product of United's, is wanted by Championship club Middlesbrough.
Boro have also successfully tempted United goalkeeping coach Alan Fettis to the club, confirming the news in an official statement earlier this week. Fettis turned down a number of approaches from other clubs to join Chris Wilder's coaching staff.
