Sofyan Amrabat has been heavily linked with a move to Man Utd.

Manchester United will get a deal over the line for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat this summer, according to reports.

The Red Devils are looking to bring in a midfielder and a centre-back before the transfer deadline but only if they can shift players out the door at Old Trafford.

Fred was sold to Fenerbahce over the weekend with Man Utd now hoping to secure Donny van de Beek a move away from the club before sealing a deal for a new midfielder.

Van de Beek and Man Utd have been in negotiations with Spanish side Real Sociedad over a potential move this summer – but their president Jokin Aperribay has now seemingly ruled out the transfer.

“We are still working on (signing Dynamo Moscow’s Arsen Zakharyan),” Apperibay told El Desmarque.

“I don’t think we will sign more midfielders (after Zakharyan). We have youngsters in whom we trust a lot and we have a commitment (in them) at home. Real is not thinking of signing two midfielders.

“At no time has that been on the table. There are many youngsters who have done very well, and are going to do very well in the first-team.

“The youngsters are going to be present and future at Real”

Amrabat is still the Red Devils top target and La Nazione (via Fiorentina.it) insist that an offer from Man Utd ‘may arrive in the next few days’ but only ‘after the sales’ of Fred and Van de Beek.

The Italian publication adds that Man Utd ‘are about to get rid’ of Van de Beek, although they don’t name his destination, and Fiorentina are remaining patient as ‘there don’t seem to be any alternative ways to sell’ Amrabat this summer.

West Ham, who have been linked with a move over the last week, are ‘not a destination of interest’ to the Morocco international but ‘nothing will be done’ with Man Utd ‘for less than €25m’.

And former Man Utd striker Louis Saha “would be excited to see” Amrabat move to Old Trafford this summer as his “energy level is unmatched”.

Saha told Betfred: “The squad needs to be big and all the players need to be capable of playing when called upon. Soyfan is experienced, he’s good on the ball and his energy level is unmatched. Manchester United have already lost Marcel Sabitzer and it’s looking likely that either McTominay or Fred will leave too.

“Both Fred and McTominay showed their class in certain performances last season, so if Manchester United are willing to let either of those players go this summer, then that highlights how good the squad is currently.

“I would be excited to see the signing of Amrabat as a player that possesses his qualities will be needed if Casemiro was ever to get injured or suspended.”
