Manchester United will entertain Arsenal at Old Trafford this Sunday afternoon as they look to secure a win at home in their Premier League season opener. The Red Devils managed to beat Fiorentina on penalties recently, which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.

Ruben Amorim will set his men up in a 3-4-2-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first team for this clash against the Gunners. Luke Shaw and Matthijs de Ligt could get a chance to play from the start of this game.

Defence

Altay Bayindir will feature in goal for the Mancunian giants after he conceded one goal in his last appearance. Amorim could opt for a back three of Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw as they try to collectively keep the Arsenal attackers quiet throughout the game.

Harry Maguire will offer cover for the centre-back positions on the bench. However, Lisandro Martinez will be sidelined for this game as he continues to recover from a serious knee injury.

Midfield

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte will anchor the midfield for the Red Devils as they try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.

Patrick Dorgu will operate as a left-sided wide player while Amad Diallo fills in on the other side as the right wing-back. Both of them would have to perform their defensive duties well and also make some overlapping runs out on the flanks.

Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo will act as Amorim’s primary attacking midfielders in the opponent’s half. The dynamic duo would have to carry most of the creative burden for Man United in the final third.

Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second half if needed.

Attack

Matheus Cunha will lead the line for the Mancunian giants up top. He has to find a way to pose a threat in front of the Arsenal goal.

Rasmus Hojlund will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if required.
