Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi made it clear that the club are working to purchase Charles De Ketelaere from Milan this summer after his impressive season on loan.
The 23-year-old Belgian forward failed to find his footing in his debut season with Italy, managing just one assist across 40 games for the Rossoneri, but he’s found a new lease of life this term under Gian Piero Gasperini, shining in Bergamo.
De Ketelaere has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions, playing a leading role for Atalanta in their runs to the Coppa Italia final and Europa League semi-finals.
Speaking to the media via TMW ahead of Atalanta’s Coppa Italia clash with Fiorentina on Wednesday evening, Percassi stated the club’s intentions to sign De Ketelaere from Milan, saying: “I’d suggest he confirm the house in Bergamo, because it’s a beautiful city where one feels very comfortable.”
La Dea paid €3m for the loan deal last summer and will spend €26m to make his stay in Bergamo permanent this summer. The Rossoneri hold a 10% future resale clause, giving them some chance for profit in the future.
