One of Roma’s main targets this summer is reportedly Maxim De Cuyper who could replace Angelino in the Italian capital.

However, there is no shortage of competition and closing the deal will not be easy.

Last March 30, the Belgian gave an interview to Humo where he talked about his future.

“I would really like to make a step forward in my career,” said De Cuyper. “In the past it would never have occurred to me, I wanted to establish myself at Brugge and stay there for my entire career. But now I’m at a point where I can imagine a transfer.”

“I feel the need to get out of my comfort zone. I live five minutes from the sports center, I know everyone at Bruges. If nothing happens, never mind. But I don’t want to have any regrets in the future.”

“I’m not afraid of what can go wrong: difficulties in the relationship with teammates, a coach who is suddenly fired… If you’re good, you always have to think that you’ll have your chance.”

“There are a lot of rumors, but I haven’t decided yet. I could very well stay here again next year, there’s still a long way to go.”

“Spain would be great: they play football there all the time in the sun. I prefer countries like that and also the games there finish late. For me it’s ideal, as I’m a person who likes to be active in the evenings.”
