De Bruyne And Ederson Get 8 | Manchester City Players Rated In Narrow Win Vs Leicester City

Manchester City faced off against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium earlier this afternoon as they looked to secure a positive result on the road in the Premier League. Manchester City began the game well but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Pep Guardiola’s side finally managed to break the deadlock in the 49th minute when Kevin De Bruyne scored with a superb free-kick. Man City sat on their lead well and earned a narrow 1-0 win away from home.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player fared during the match against the Foxes.
GK: Ederson – 8/10
The Brazilian keeper made a few important saves at the back and was accurate with his passing. He will be quite happy with the clean sheet today.
RB: John Stones – 6.5/10
Stones made a couple of solid tackles to make life difficult for the opposition. However, he also had some nervy moments in the game.
CB: Manuel Akanji – 7/10
He did what was required of him on the defensive end of the field and was a threat going forward.
CB: Aymeric Laporte – 7/10
Laporte did enough work defensively to keep the opposition at bay and created a couple of inviting chances in the final third.
Etihad Stadium
LB: Joao Cancelo – 7/10
Cancelo earned the ball back once and caused a few problems in the Leicester half.
CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 8/10
The Belgian international engineered a few clear-cut chances for others around him and scored the only goal of the game with an excellent free-kick.
CM: Rodri – 7.5/10
Rodri did his fair share of defending and anchored the midfield with conviction. He also caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders as well.
CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 7/10
He earned the ball back once and had a few lively moments in the final third.
RW: Bernardo Silva – 6.5/10
The Portuguese wide player had a few bright moments deep inside the Leicester half but didn’t do enough to get his name on the scoresheet.
ST: Julian Alvarez – 6/10
The Argentine forward was quite tidy with his link-up play but never got a sniff at goal.
LW: Jack Grealish – 7/10
He made a couple of solid tackles and orchestrated a few promising opportunities for his teammates from the left flank.
Substitutes:
CB: Ruben Dias – 6/10
Dias kept things solid at the back after coming off the bench in the 71st minute.
ST: Phil Foden – 6/10
He was a bit untidy with his passing.
