Giorgian De Arrascaeta is a notable absentee from Flamengo’s squad for Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash with Internacional.
The Uruguay international midfielder has pain and swelling in his knee, leading the Rubro-Negro to decide to leave the 26-year-old at home for the trip to Porto Alegre.
Diego will also miss out, as the veteran playmaker is troubled by a right thigh issue.
The pair join goalkeeper Diego Alves and centre-back Rodrigo Caio on the treatment table.
In better news for manager Domenèc Torrent, striker Pedro Rocha and right-back João Lucas have recovered from muscle problems and are available for selection.
Internacional and Flamengo are level on 34 points at the summit of the Brasileirão, with the former in first place on account of their better goal difference.
Torrent’s side will remain in Porto Allegre after Sunday’s game at the Estádio José Pinheiro Borda before travelling to Curitiba to face Athletico Paranaense in a Copa do Brasil Round of 16 first leg tie on Tuesday.
