Giorgian de Arrascaeta scored twice to send Flamengo into the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil at the expense of Atlético Mineiro (3-2 on aggregate).

Kick-off was delayed at the Maracanã to allow the smoke to clear after a spectacular pre-match display of support by the Rubro-Negro faithful.
The atmosphere had been ramped up by the presentation of new signing Arturo Vidal, though the Chile international is not yet eligible to play.
Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, de Arrascaeta almost opened the scoring for the hosts in the 14th minute but Atlético goalkeeper Everson just about managed to turn the shot past the post.
The Uruguay international did succeed in breaking the deadlock on the stroke of half time with a brilliant sliding finish to compliment Pedro’s through ball.
And de Arrascaeta grabbed his second of the night midway through the second half, with his back-post header crossing the line before Everson could force it out.
The tie turned even further in Flamengo’s favour 12 minutes from time when Atlético defender Júnior Alonso was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card for a scything tactical foul.
And the Mengão were able to see the game out in relative comfort to eliminate the defending champions.
