D.C United will reportedly beat a host of MLS clubs to the signing of University of Maryland defender Donovan Pines this month.
The 20-year-old was a key part of Maryland’s NCAA Championship-winning side last year and has been one of the most sought-after centre-backs in America.
But the Washington Post claim that Ben Olsen’s side will sign the towering defender in the coming days before their pre-season training camp starts at the end of the month.
It’s believed that Pines will sign a long-term deal in D.C on a Homegrown Player contract.
