La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to bid farewell to a highly-regarded up-and-coming member of the club’s defensive ranks before the summer is out.
That’s according to Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel, who points towards Héctor Fort as the player in question.
The name of full-back Fort has of course emerged as a leading one in the headlines surrounding Barcelona across the week to date.
This comes after the 19-year-old was not afforded a single minute of playing time in the Blaugrana’s pre-season opener against Vissel Kobe.
As much gave rise to immediate speculation that Fort does not feature in the plans of boss Hansi Flick, therefore potentially set to be on the move before the summer is out.
And as alluded to above, if the latest update on the situation to have surfaced on Sunday is anything to go by, then such a scenario is beginning to look almost certain.
As per a report from the reliable Javier Miguel of Diario AS:
‘Hector Fort’s days are numbered. The club does not plan to give him a first-team spot. Gerard Martin will have a first-team number.’
