Speaking exclusively to The Athletic, French defender Dayot Upamecano reveals that he had offers from other clubs before opting for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
“There were other options but they [Bayern Munich] had tracked me for a long time and I had good talks with the people in charge,” said Upamecano. “I believe it’s the best place for me to develop further.”

Bayern Munich announced the signing of 22-year-old Upamecano on a five-year contract in February. The Frenchman will join the club at the end of the season with RB Leipzig receiving a reported €42.5 million.
