Le Parisien understands that Dayot Upamecano (26) will likely miss France’s upcoming UEFA Nations League semi-final against Spain when the two teams meet in Stuttgart on the 5th of June.

The Bayern Munich defender has been ruled out of action since he returned from international duty in late March. The defender had played the full 120 minutes against Croatia, and even scored the winning goal to set up the semi-final meeting with Spain, but tests upon his return revealed that he had loose bodies within his knee.

Bayern had been confident that, following successful arthroscopic surgery, the centre-back would be back before the end of the season. However, he has yet to be included in a matchday squad.

Le Parisien writes that time is running out for Upamecano to recuperate before Didier Deschamps announces his squad list on the 21st of May. If France beats Spain, they will play either Italy or Germany in the Final in Munich on the 8th of June.
