L’Équipe have this afternoon confirmed that both Adrien Rabiot and Dayot Upamecano will start France’s World Cup semi-final tonight against Morocco from the bench, having both fallen ill as a result of the omnipresent air conditioning in Qatar.

The Juventus midfielder will be replaced in the starting elven by Youssouf Fofana, while the centre-back will see Ibrahima Konaté take his spot.

The rest of the team that took to the field in the win against England is set to return, with Aurélien Tchouaméni having recovered in time from a calf knock to resume his role as Les Bleus’ main midfield man, while Jules Koundé retains his place in the right-back position, having ostensibly taken over for good from Benjamin Pavard.

Up front, it’ll be a first-choice trident consisting of Kylian Mbappé – who’ll be looking to become the tournament’s outright top scorer again after Lionel Messi drew level on 5 last night – Ousmane Dembélé on the other flank and Olivier GIroud leading the line.
