MIAMI, Florida – The 2023 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League has wrapped up after a compelling Final between Club Leon and Los Angeles FC, with Club Leon claiming their first ever Concacaf crown, 3-1 on aggregate.

There were many excellent individual performances over the course of the tournament, yet these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions.

GK John McCarthy, Los Angeles FC – Winner of the 2023 SCCL Best Goalkeeper Award, McCarthy conceded just six goals during the tournament in eight games, recorded four clean sheets and made 33 saves.

DF Diego Palacios, Los Angeles FC – Palacios was one of the first names on the LAFC starting all eight games for the MLS side in the tournament. Palacios posted 16 steals and 10 clearances, while completing almost 84 percent of his passes.

DF Adonis Frias, Club Leon – Frias was the hero of Club Leon’s semifinal series win versus Tigres with the winning goal, but he also starred with 14 clearances and 15 steals in seven games.

DF Aaron Long, Los Angeles FC – A precise passer with almost 95 percent accuracy during the tournament, Long also excelled in the back with 16 steals and 13 clearances.

DF Ivan Moreno, Club Leon – Moreno was a factor on both ends, supplying the assist on Sunday’s winning goal, while scoring a goal himself earlier in the tournament. He also had six clearances and five steals.

MF Fidel Ambriz, Club Leon – The 20-year-old captured the Best Young Player Award for the 2023 SCCL after appearing in seven matches and scoring one goal, including a stunning strike against Tigres in the semifinals. He completed almost 92 percent of his passes.

MF Luis Quinones, Tigres – Quinones delivered an exceptional tournament for Tigres, who finished as semifinalists. Quinones scored three goals and four assists to go along with four ball recoveries.

MF Elias Hernandez, Tigres – The veteran had two goals and two assists, while also chipping in on the defensive side with four steals.

FW Victor Davila, Club Leon – Davila finished the 2023 SCCL as the winner of the Best Player Award. The 25-year-old attacker appeared in seven matches during the tournament for La Fiera, starting five and scoring three goals.

FW Denis Bouanga, Los Angeles FC – With seven goals, Bouanga won the Top Scorer Award in the 2023 SCCL. The Gabon international scored in each round of the tournament, including the lone LAFC goal in the Final. He also had three assists.

FW Carlos Vela, Los Angeles FC – Vela supplied three goals and two assists in helping LAFC reach a second SCCL Final. The legendary Mexican FW now has eight goals in his SCCL career.
