Davies extension at FC Bayern is becoming increasingly unlikely

Despite the ultimatum having passed, FC Bayern are still hoping to extend Alphonso Davies‘ contract. However, working with the 23-year-old Canadian beyond the current season is becoming increasingly unlikely.

The possibility of Alphonso Davies moving to Real Madrid has been looming for months. After the left-back recently missed a deadline set by the club to extend his contract, he now has a new offer on the table from Munich – although, according to information from BILD, with lower wages than the previous offer. This makes it increasingly unlikely that the left-back will extend his contract, which runs until the summer of 2025.

This naturally plays into the hands of interested parties from the Spanish capital. According to ESPN, the Whites are not prepared to pay more than €40 million for Davies this summer.

If FC Bayern are not prepared to let him go for this sum, Madrid have no problem waiting a year for him, according to Spanish sport.

Not only Real Madrid are interested in Alphonso Davies

However, a move to the Spanish record champions is far from certain. While the Whites were long regarded as the only interested party in the pacy full-back, another top European club now appears to have expressed an interest in Davies.

Reigning Champions League winners Manchester City are said to be keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding the Canadian. Should the Skyblues actually enter the bidding, this could mean a significantly higher transfer fee for FC Bayern.

Munich are currently rumoured to be asking around €50 million for Davies. Despite the persistent transfer rumours and the recent public disagreements with his advisor, the Isar club are still hoping for a contract extension.
