West Ham United have started the 2025-26 Premier League campaign on a disappointing note, losing their opening two games.
The Hammers lost 3-0 to newly-promoted Sunderland in the opening game of the season before suffering a 5-1 defeat against Chelsea in their first home match.
They were dumped out of the League Cup last night by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the second round, and the finger-pointing has already begun behind the scenes.
West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has blamed the coaching staff for the recent struggles, according to the Daily Mail.
The Hammers chairman believes they are at fault for not getting the most out of the players at their disposal.
They have signed French centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo permanently and also added El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters to their defence.
English striker Callum Wilson was brought in for free after he left Newcastle United, while Danish goalkeeper Mads Hermansen joined from Leicester City.
West Ham have failed to impress at both ends of the pitch, but Graham Potter’s job is safe as Sullivan does not like to sack managers mid-season.
They are already looking to change goalkeepers after Hermansen’s shaky start to his Hammers career. A move for Botafogo’s John Victor has been reignited.
West Ham are now looking to secure the services of the South American on loan. They also need new defenders after shipping three goals from corners against Chelsea.
They are back in Premier League action on Sunday with a trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest.
