Manchester United must shell out a sum of £50m if they are to complete the signature of Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

The defender, aged just 21, has started in every Premier League game played by the Canaries so far this term.

Reports have claimed that Godfrey has attracted interest from both Man United and Arsenal, with the latter monitoring the player during a recent 2-2 draw at Carrow Road.

According to Ornstein, a highly reliable source, Norwich value the player at £50m ahead of the January transfer window.

United have already signed Harry Maguire, but may well need a replacement should Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo all leave the club next summer.
