David Luiz has likely played his last game for Arsenal, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Gunners and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 34-year-old would be one of many casualties at the Emirates this summer.
Luiz is currently working his way back from a hamstring injury and was pictured by club media missing training prior to Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Chelsea on Wednesday night.
The centre-half has less than two months left on his contract in north London and could be set to leave at the end of the season on a free.
According to The Telegraph, via the Express, the Brazilian earns £120,000-a-week on his current deal.
When asked if Luiz would play for the Gunners again given there is just two fixtures of the season remaining, Campbell told Football Insider:
“There is a good chance he has played his last game for Arsenal.
“Arteta has been looking at this squad for over a year now and he realises there has to be wholesale changes.
“Whatever Arteta has done behind the scenes, he has not got the reaction he wants from his players.
“What tends to happen is either the manager goes or a lot of the players go.
“This is the third manager who has tried to get the best out of these players. This time it is the players who need to be replaced and Luiz will more than likely be one of them.”
