Fresh from a brace in LOSC's 2-1 win in Strasbourg, Canada striker Jonathan David will be LOSC's big hope going forward as Jocelyn Gourvennec's men look to clock their first points of the campaign away to Salzburg on Wednesday night.

UEFA Champions League Matchday 2 Group G Stadion Salzburg, Salzburg FC Salzburg - LOSC - Kick-off at 19:00 GMT It has been something of a difficult transition period for reigning Ligue 1 Uber Eats champions LOSC after inspirational coach Christophe Galtier left for Nice in the summer. Les Dogues claimed Trophée des Champions glory in new man Jocelyn Gourvennec's first match in charge but since then results have been hard to come by. Lucky charm

However, the 2-1 win in Strasbourg at the weekend was LOSC's third of the campaign - and second in a row - thanks to a deft double from Canada striker Jonathan David, who is the club's lucky charm: whenever he scores, they win.

RC STRASBOURG ALSACE - LOSC LILLE (1-2) / Highlights (RCSA - LOSC) 2021/2022 "He has gotten going earlier this season - last season, he was effective only as of November," noted Gourvennec. "He is a generous lad in his personality and also on the pitch. He has become important for the team. He moves well and is starting to become a real goalscorer. Having five clear chances in Strasbourg (2-1, Saturday), that starts to count for a striker." Gourvennec: 'Be stronger collectively'

So it is with some wind in their sails that LOSC are looking to get off the mark in Europe this season, but for Gourvennec it's too easy to say whether his side has lifted itself out of its slump. "We know we can't let up. The players have become aware of what they have to do more regularly. To be more consistent, stronger collectively," admitted Gourvennec, who knows that Salzburg pose a very stiff test on their home turf. "Salzburg are very strong at home. Few teams have won here in the Champions League. Napoli, Bayern Munich. Others, but not many. That's what I mean. We have a lot of desire, we want to be a good challenger. At home, in the Championship, they win all their matches. It's a good challenge to turn in an accomplished performance here." Yilmaz to start

With Renato Sanches - still recovering from injury - the only notable absentee, Gourvennec has an otherwise full-strength squad to choose from and is tipped to make just one change to the side that beat Strasbourg, bringing in rested Turkish hitman Burak Yilmaz to partner David in place of Timothy Weah. A win could see LOSC take top spot in a Group G that sits wide-open after draws in the both the Matchday 1 clashes. Probable teams FC Salzburg: Köhn; Kristensen, Onguéné, Wöber, Ulmer (c); Sucic, Camara, Aaronson, Seewald; Sesko, Adeyemi LOSC: Grbic; Celik, Fonte (c), Botman, Reinildo; Ikoné, André, Xeka, Gomes; David, Yilmaz
