Last summer, Liverpool sold striker Rhian Brewster to Sheffield United for a transfer fee of €26 million.

At this current moment, the move has not worked out for Brewster. The 21-year-old has failed to score a goal in 29 appearances for Sheffield United.

Pundit David James believes that Brewster may have already peaked before he made the move to the Blades.

“Not surprised (On Brewster not yet scoring),” James told Premier League Productions on Sunday, as quoted by HITC: “When I say ‘not surprised’ I don’t say about his ability or his talent.

“Players peak at any given age. Kids at ten years old or some players might peak at 38-years-old.

“It’s not to say that Rhian Brewster will become the superstar striker because he may have already peaked.

“But then, in his defence, he has joined a side which are poor. Eighteen goals all season. Arguably, if you play him more then he has more chance to score. But the biggest thing about it they cannot create freely. This isn’t a side that creates loads of chances. It’s not his fault.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

There is no denying that Brewster had a good run of things before he made the move to Sheffield United. Back in 2017, Brewster scored the most goals at the under-17 World Cup.

Brewster also spent half of the 2019-20 season playing for Swansea City. During Brewster’s loan spell with Swansea City, he scored 11 goals in 22 appearances.

But, we don’t believe that Brewster has already peaked. Brewster is only 21 years of age. He is just having a tough time of things at the moment.

However, there is no denying that Liverpool have got the better of the deal right now. Brewster has not lived up to his price tag.
