David de Gea will be hoping to complete a cup double to top off a fine season for Manchester United this weekend.

In what has been an impressive first season under Erik ten Hag, Manchester United have fought for success all year and the players will want to continue to show their progress in another battle against Man City in the FA Cup final.

De Gea could do with a strong performance in the FA Cup final to silence critics that question whether he should be first choice goalkeeper next season, despite winning the Golden Glove award this season with 17 clean sheets in the Premier League.

“We have to recover well and start to prepare for the game,” De Gea said, as per The Independent. “Of course, we know it’s a big final, a special game.

“We’ve been the whole year fighting to be in that position to win titles and we will try absolutely everything to try to win.”

Although the players had their end-of-season awards ceremony on Monday night, they will be back on the training pitch at Carrington for the rest of the week as Ten Hag prepares them for another big battle.

Ten Hag’s first campaign has already seen the side finishing third in the Premier League and sealing a Champions League return.

In February, United ended a six-year wait for a trophy when they lifted the Carabao Cup. They will be hoping to lift the FA Cup this weekend at Wembley.
