Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has confirmed his intention to remain at the club despite his contract situation.

The 32-year-old has been at the club for almost 12 years after joining from Atletico Madrid in a €25m switch during Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign.

The Spaniard’s contract expires this summer however he has reiterated his desire to remain at the Red Devils in a recent Sky Sports interview:

“I love Manchester United. I’ve been here for years. I enjoy every moment. I’ve played many games. It’s great to be here. It’s a huge club. I love the club, I’m very happy here,” he said.

Talks continue over a new contract after the United number one reportedly rejected the clubs initial offer.

Brentford keeper David Raya has been touted as a potential replacement for de Gea after impressing for the Bees since joining the club from Blackburn Rovers back in July 2019.

Raya has rejected two contract proposals from Brentford and looks set to leave the West London club this summer.
