Marco Veratti claimed he was fouled when the ball was robbed from him in midfield before Austria’s opener, but the PSG man should’ve played to the whistle as Marko Arnautović ran down the pitch and set up Xaver Schlager for the finish.

Austria’s second was more spectacular, as a free-kick was hit from distance from Real Madrid’s David Alaba and flew into the back of the net.

Italy brought on Federico Chiesa and Nicolò Zaniolo in the second half, but it made little difference as Austria held on for the win.
