There’s no time for moping after Thursday’s humbling at the hands of league leaders Napoli with Sunday’s trip to Juventus already just around the corner – and Roberto D’Aversa has told his men to turn that anger to their advantage when they travel to Turin.

“You’re always angry and disappointed when you lose,” the Blucerchiati boss admitted. “But if we look at our performances and our work, we have to carry on as we are because we’re on the right path.

“We feel the way you do after losing 4-0 and we must be angry because a defeat means we’ve thrown away a week’s work but we mustn’t get downbeat about it. We may have lost but we still looked like a team. Now we have to channel that anger into our next match.

“The mental aspect is the most important thing when you have a day less to recover than your opponents, like in this case. And we’d be making a huge mistake if we think Juventus are struggling.

“We’re going to play a great team at a great stadium. They have a winning mentality – and have had for a long time.

“As for [Massimiliano] Allegri, personally I rate him as one of the best coaches in Europe. He’s a smart man and an excellent coach. A winner – there’s no doubt about that.”
