A date has been pencilled in for the upcoming Finalissima clash between Spain and Argentina.
That’s according to journalist Gaston Edul, who has revealed that as much will be played out in March of 2026.
The Finalissima, for those not aware, pins the champions of Europe against their South American counterparts, in a one-off showdown.
The fixture, which had been left off the football calendar for almost 30 years prior, was relaunched back in 2022.
On that occasion, the aforementioned Argentina made short work of Italy, to the tune of a 3-0 triumph.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, the reigning world champions have been made aware of when exactly they will be forced to defend their Finalissima crown.
As per a report from Argentine journalist Gaston Edul, the Albiceleste will lock horns with Spain between the 17th and 25th of March, 2026.
The clash is already being billed as a meeting between Barcelona’s past and future, owing to the expected presences of both Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal.
