City’s Premier League 2 semi-final clash with Manchester United has been confirmed for Friday 9 May.
Ben Wilkinson’s Elite Development Squad will welcome our Manchester rivals to the Joie Stadium for an 19:00 (UK) kick-off.
City’s youngsters progressed to the last four stage of the PL2 play-offs after a dramatic 3-2 quarter-final win over Arsenal in extra-time last Saturday.
The City youngsters fought back from 2-0 down to first narrow the deficit through Ashton Muir before Lakyle Samuel’s injury time header sent the game into extra time.
There Divin Mubama, just as he did in our 2-1 Round of 16 victory over Liverpool, struck to claim the winner.
United meanwhile booked their semi-final ticket after a 4-1 quarter-final victory over West Ham on Monday.
That followed hard on the heels of a 4-2 Round of 16 success over Everton.
Our Under-21s have already meet United once this season, recording a 3-1 triumph at Carrington in a league clash back in September.
The winners of Friday’s derby will face either Crystal Palace or Southampton, who meet next Monday, in the final.
