Darwin Núñez made his first appearance at Anfield for Liverpool on Monday night, and it was not the kind of debut he had in mind.
Núñez looked lively in the first half and, after Crystal Palace had taken a shock lead, Liverpool’s record signing almost equalised when he hit the post in first half stoppage time.

But his Anfield debut ended in disappointment for himself and the home fans just before the hour mark, when he was shown a straight red card for a clear headbutt on Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen.
The Uruguayan will now face a three-match ban, and Jürgen Klopp will no doubt have some choice words for his new signing after the game.
